Homework 1

These are the abbreviations I have learn in class.

IT (Information Technology)  refers to anything related to computhing technology, such as networking, hardware, software, or people that work with technologies. 

ICT (Information Communication Technology)  refers to technontechologies that provide access to information through telecommunications. It is similar to IT, but focuses primarily on communication technlogies. 

CAI (Computer Assisted Instruction)  refers to instruction or remediation presented on a computer.

CALL (Computer Assisted Language Learning)  as the search for and study of applications of the computer in language teaching and learning.

CMC (Comtuter Mediated Communication)  refers to human communication via computers and includes many different forms of synchronous, asynchronous or real-time interaction that humans have with each other using computers as tools to exchange text, image, audio, and video.

TELL (Technology Enhanced Language Learning) is the use of the computer as a technological innovation to display multimedia as a means of complementing a teaching method langauge teachers.

WBI (Web Based Instruction) is custom tailored training delivered through a web browser over any network. WBI is regularly updated and is available ondemand in several formats.

MUDs (Multi User Domains)  is a multiplayer real-time virtual world, usually text-based. MUDs combine elements of role-playing, games, hack and slash, player versus player, and online chat.

Moos (Multiple Domain Object)  is a text-based online virtual reality system to which multiple users(players) are connected at the same time.
